Kathmandu: The Kathmandu Metropolitan City (KMC) has announced that it will be distributing scholarships to students attending institutional schools within the metropolis. The scholarships will be available to Grade 11 students who meet the eligibility criteria.

To be eligible for a scholarship, students must be from a disadvantaged background, have a disability, be a woman, belong to a Dalit or indigenous community, or be from a low-income family. The number of scholarships awarded will be at least 10% of the total enrollment in the respective school.

Interested students can apply for a scholarship online until July 28. The application process will involve submitting an application form and taking a selection test. The selection test will be based on the syllabus of Class 10.

The scholarships will cover the cost of tuition, books, and other school-related expenses. They will be awarded for one year, and students can reapply for the scholarship each year.

The KMC's decision to distribute scholarships to students in institutional schools is a welcome move. It will help to ensure that all students, regardless of their background, have the opportunity to access quality education.
